Trauma doesn’t always leave visible scars—but it can deeply shape how we think, feel, and connect with the world. Whether caused by a single event or prolonged exposure to distress, trauma is a powerful force that can disrupt every aspect of our emotional well-being.
At Found Recovery, we know that true healing starts with understanding the root of your pain—not just treating the symptoms. That’s why our approach to trauma recovery is both evidence-based and human-centered.
What Is Trauma, Really?
Trauma is any experience that overwhelms your ability to cope. It can stem from physical, emotional, or psychological harm, and it affects people in vastly different ways. Common sources include:
- Childhood abuse or neglect
- Loss of a loved one
- Car accidents or natural disasters
- Domestic violence
- Ongoing stress or burnout
For many, trauma lingers long after the event is over, manifesting as anxiety, depression, substance use, emotional dysregulation, or difficulty trusting others.
The Link Between Trauma and Mental Health
When trauma goes unprocessed, it can lead to chronic mental health challenges such as:
- PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Major depressive disorder
- Borderline personality traits
- Substance use and behavioral addictions
At Found Recovery, we recognize that trauma often co-occurs with these conditions. That’s why we take a dual-diagnosis approach, addressing both trauma and its mental health symptoms simultaneously.
Our Trauma-Informed Care Model
Healing from trauma is not about “fixing” what’s broken—it’s about rebuilding safety, connection, and self-trust.
Our outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs include:
- Individual therapy 3x per week with clinicians trained in trauma recovery
- Group therapy focused on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and relationship skills
- Experiential sessions like improv, guided hikes, beach walks, and creative expression
- Nutrition, movement, and breath work to support somatic healing
- Psychoeducation to empower clients with language, understanding, and tools
All sessions are designed to meet clients where they are, creating space for vulnerability, growth, and renewal.
Why Trauma Healing Needs to Be Personalized
No two healing journeys look alike. Some individuals need structured support five days a week in our PHP program, while others thrive with the flexibility of our IOP or virtual track. What’s consistent is our belief that trauma-informed care must be adaptive, respectful, and relational.
Our therapists take time to co-create goals with each client and guide them toward sustainable change at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone
If you’ve been feeling stuck, emotionally numb, or disconnected from yourself—this may be the residual weight of unhealed trauma. But healing is possible.
At Found Recovery, we don’t just treat symptoms. We walk beside you as you rewrite your story, reclaim your voice, and reconnect to a life worth living.
